Pairs of lopper shears that were sold at Atlanta-based The Home Depot are being recalled by their manufacturer due to the possibility of the handles breaking during branch cutting.

The 32-inch Fiskars Titanium Bypass Looper Shears were sold only at The Home Depot between May of 2011 and June of 2014 and retailed for approximately $40. The model number for the recalled product is 6954. The handles themselves are dark orange, with black rubber grips and a gray strip.

Fiskars has received almost a dozen complaints of the handles breaking during operation, causing injuries to the operators. Some people injured by the breaking handles have needed stitches to their heads and faces, the U.S. Consumer Protection Agency says.

Anyone in possession of the recalled shears can call FIskars at (855) 544-0151 or visit Fiskars’ website to learn more about exchanging the product.
