Former Newswoman Arrested for Drunk Driving in Cobb County

The longtime anchor was fined $200 and ordered to complete 200 hours of community service.

A former FOX 5 Atlanta anchorwoman has been arrested and charged with DUI after she was stopped by Cobb County police Monday morning.

Amanda Davis was arrested at 12:50 a.m. on Atlanta Road for drunk driving and failure to maintain her lane, Cobb County jail records show. WSB-TV reports that Davis was arrested only a mile from her Smyrna home.

Jail records show that Davis was released at 5:41 a.m. on $1,300 bond.

The Emmy Award-winning journalist is no stranger to drinking and driving; in 2012, she was charged with DUI, failure to maintain lane, and reckless driving for a wrong way, head-on crash in Midtown.

Davis was also arrested and charged with DUI, speeding, and failure to maintain her lane in December of 1991, 11 Alive News reported in 2012.

Davis retired from FOX 5 in 2013 after working at the station since 1986.
