Hello again, everybody! I'm back with your fresh copy of the Smyrna-Vinings Daily, fresh off the presses. Let's get this week started off right with a quick guide to everything you need to know about what's going on around town.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and hot. High: 95 Low: 75.

Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

  1. The Franco-German Cultural Center will have its grand opening on Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m. The Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta's lounge, library, and terrace are open for visitors, and the Summer Quarter for classes will begin on Jul. 9. The Center is the new home for the German language and European-German culture in Atlanta and the Southeast. (GlobalAtlanta)
  2. Lisa Cupid, the Chairwoman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, will deliver a State of the County address at the Chamber's Marquee event Monday. The presentation will focus on things of interest to the Cobb County business community. She will discuss providing outstanding customer service throughout the pandemic, community concerns, and how she supports the business community. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Atlanta officials announced the restoration of historic Oakland Cemetery's African American Burial Grounds after six years of fundraising and restoration efforts. Richard Harker, the Executive Director, said thousands of donors provided $600,000 that was required to complete hardscape and landscape restorations. Valerie Jackson, a widow of a dignitary buried in the cemetery, explained that "the restoration of the African American Burial Grounds only begins to reveal some of the depth and contributions of Atlanta's African American community."
