Lord knows I love em! I got a pint jar of cooking oil and a 8 inch pot.
12 minutes on a high stove eye puts me in hog heaven. Before that tho!
I keep my Idahos cool in the fridge veggie bin. Takes a few minutes to get two big uns naked, sliced and washed - then soaked in ice water for 30 minutes. After that I drain em and get the oil up to 300 degrees and carefully load the fries in the pot with a spatter screen close by because of the fuss that occurs. I stir the pot ever so often until the fires look browned.
Later, I put a coffee filter in a funnel, stick it in the cooking oil jar and pour the cooking oil in the filter. So! I save my oil for another fight and the oil it goes in the fridge also to prevent it's going bad.
