Nicholas Thomas, 23, will be eulogized at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The church was once presided over by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and is one of the focal points of the civil rights movement.
Thomas was shot and killed by a Smyrna police sergeant on March 24 while police were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on him for a probation violation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the inquiry into the officer-related shooting.
