GA Alzheimer's Awareness Campaign Funding Passes Senate Committee

Awareness is the first step to Diagnosis

Awareness the first step to Diagnosis

This past week the Georgia Senate Appropriation Committee passed the funding request for a state wide awareness campaign. The Alzheimer's Association in partnership with Georgia Agency of Aging Services requested this addition to the State Budget to produce culturally correct information needed by the public to seek assessment and diagnosis of Alzheimer's and related dementias. The campaign would be developed and presented by the Georgia Department of Public Health and reach every county in the state.

I would like to thank Senator Jen Jordan for her support and leadership in the passing of this funding in committee. She clearly understands the importance of early diagnosis and the benefits it brings to Patients and their families across all of Georgia.

The Senate Committee passage is an important first step in the budget process. We must now continue our efforts with State House Representatives.
Please urge your House Representative to Support this Funding as I have #Ask4Alz my Rep. Michael Smith of District 41. He has committed to support this initiative because he sees the benefits to his constituents and Community.
Once again we thank Senator Jen Jordan for her commitment and support.
