I was thinking about how much of a hassle it is to drive to Cinebistro in Brookhaven and how there's nothing like it in the NW metro. Cinebistro is more like a restaurant that happens to have theater rooms. So normally we don't bother, and we go to the AMC. It's not quite the same thing, but Brookhaven is really far away for a night out.
I was wondering if Branch had tried contacting Cinebistro to see if they would open a second location for Metro Atlanta in Jonquil Village. It'd be similar to character of the Town Brookhaven location. Out of curiosity, I called Cinebistro myself to see if they have thought of a second location in metro Atlanta. I should be hearing back from the COO next week.
It's clear a lot of places like Cinebistro are not tapping the entire metro market, and this part of the metro has been under-served.
So, Publix didn't move in. Right now, the property owners are still obligated to build the original $300 million development, or nothing, pending the results of the case they filed in December through Sams Garvis. So it has got me thinking: Instead of one big anchor, what about if Jonquil could find 2-3 like Cinebistro as anchors and build the original $300 million development off that financially stable foundation. Wouldn't banks consider this fundable? Especially with Braves moving in nearby?
On top of that, can you think of any fun, cool, smaller anchors that would be a good match for Jonquil Village? Things that may be too far away right now? Something other than a grocery store?
