Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder Honored with Atlanta Bar Association's Small Firm Service Award
The award recognizes firms who have provided significant leadership within the organization.

The family law firm of Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder (HHR) has been awarded the Atlanta Bar Association’s Small Firm Service Award. The award recognizes firms who have provided significant leadership within the organization. HHR Managing Partner Hannibal Heredia accepted the award at the Atlanta Bar Association’s Annual Meeting on May 24 at the Piedmont Driving Club.
The largest voluntary bar association in the southeast, the Atlanta Bar Association boasts a membership of over 6,000. Their mission is to promote professionalism and the fair administration of justice in the Atlanta community, while also providing quality programs and benefits to their diverse membership.
Selection criteria for the Small Firm Service Award included:

- Percentage of firm members who are members of the Atlanta Bar Association
- Whether the firm pays the dues for the members
- Whether the firm participates in the Minority Clerkship program
- Extent to which members of the firm serve in leadership positions with the Atlanta Bar Association
All of HHR’s attorneys are members of the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Most also serve in leadership positions including:
- Managing partner Hannibal Heredia serves as vice chair / chair-elect for the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section (he became chair on June 1) and as chair of the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s LawJam Committee, which hosts the annual LawJam fundraiser to support pro bono legal services and Atlanta Bar youth programs. He’s also co-chair of the “Brews for Tunes” fundraiser, benefiting the Atlanta Music Project.
- Partner Jon Hedgepeth is a past chair of the Family Law Section and a member of the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s LawJam committee.
- Partner Rebecca Crumrine Rieder is an at-large member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section.
- Partner Jessica Reece Fagan is a member of the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s LawJam committee.
- Attorney J. Ashley Sawyer serves as treasurer for the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section. She is also a member of the Women in the Profession and the Council of Younger Lawyers Sections. She is co-chair of the “Brews for Tunes” fundraiser.
