'Highlights of The Nutcracker'
The International City School of Ballet invites you to see "Highlights of The Nutcracker" on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 4 p.m. at Campbell High.

Take a top-ranked ballet school, add a city partnership, stir in a holiday classic and sprinkle with holiday magic. What do you have? “Highlights of the Nutcracker,” a stunning rendition of the holiday classic.
Smyrna’s award-winning International City School of Ballet is teaming with the City of Smyrna’s Parks and Recreation Department to dazzle audiences with excerpts featuring Clara, the magical Nutcracker, the Sugar Plum Fairy and beautiful dancers from the Land of Sweets.
This vibrant, captivating show takes place Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. at the Campbell High School theater. Tickets for the one-hour show are just $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18.

The show -- priced at less than the cost of a movie -- is part of ICSB’s mission to provide free or low-cost ballet shows to the community, according to the ICSB’s Parents Supporting the Arts nonprofit group. They hope the performance will become a family tradition for years to come.
It’s a great opportunity to see ICSB before it performs at this year’s Youth America Grand Prix regionals in Atlanta in January. Last year, the school was named Outstanding School in the region by YAGP and sent 18 dancers to the YAGP finals in New York City.

The school’s founder, Georne Aucoin, was named Teacher of the Year by YAGP in 2013. Executive Director Musashi Alvarez was named Choreographer of the Year by YAGP the following year.
The school – located in the Village Green shops of Smyrna – provides training for children ages 3 to 19.
