Ahh, the blueberry muffin, it’s about as close as you can get to eating a cupcake for breakfast, eh? And the good folks of Minnesota like them so much, they made the blueberry muffin their official state muffin. Maybe we’ll make the blueberry muffin the official muffin of Smyrna-Vinings Patch?

Still, clearly we’ve got food on the brain and with good reason. Don’t forget that Friends of the Smyrna Library are hosting a yogurt social and book sale today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. inside the library as part of the yearlong celebration of the Smyrna Public Library's 75th anniversary.
Pinkberry at Akers Mill will serve its frozen yogurt and Peter Vogl will provide the tunes. The Friends of the Smyrna Library will also be selling New York Times bestsellers and gift-quality books all priced at $1 or $3. All proceeds from the book sale benefit the .

The "Get Smoked Weekend’’ continues at in Vinings, where Chef Branden Holte has got the smoker in action. Available after 4 p.m. today are smoked wings, smoked steak-stuffed burger and a smoked chicken salad sandwich. Check out the full list of delicious smoked menu items here.
Just up the road, is currently holding it’s Grilling Recipe Contest. You have until July 26 to submit your best grilling recipe to win a Big Green Egg.
The winning recipe will be placed on the restaurant’s fall/winter menu and a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the menu item will be donated in the winner's name to Special Olympics Georgia. See here for more information on how to enter.
