Ingenious Med Mobile Developers Win Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational

Mobile app connects cancer survivors via relationship building tools

Atlanta-based Ingenious Med today announced that three members of the company’s mobile development team received first place in the Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational, a month-long hack-a-thon designed to allow teams of programmers, developers and coders to develop mobility solutions for national nonprofit organizations.

Three senior developers comprised team MTM-Hack, which created MyCSN, an app developed for the American Cancer Society. The app, which consists of message boards, real-time messaging, mapping and an experience tracker, allows for easy, quick and fun relationship building and enables cancer survivors to connect through the My Cancer Survivor Network.

“As soon as I learned about the Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational, I knew that we would be able to put our development skills to use to do something truly good and meaningful,” said one of the MTM-Hack members. “While we worked many long hours to create MyCSN, it is worth it to know that our app has the potential to help millions of cancer survivors.”

Thirteen teams participated in the Hack-Back, creating mobile solutions for the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Points of Light. As one of five finalists selected, MTM-Hack was named the overall winner after each team presented their final product on Sept. 23 at the 2014 Mobility Live Conference, hosted by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
