Quick Facts

• Cub Scout Pack 61 is chartered by Bethany United Methodist Church.
• The Pack meets once a month as a group, on the LAST Tuesday of every month. Pack Meetings are where advancements, patches, etc. are handed out, and where important information is shared regarding upcoming events.
• Dens meet the first three Tuesdays of every month to work on requirements, take trips, or do service projects.
• The Pack goes camping 3-4 times per year. Cub Scout camping is “family camping”, where all family members are welcome to attend.
• Training is required for all adult Leaders, and is provided by Boy Scouts of America and the Atlanta Area Council.
• Parents of Tiger Scouts (first graders) MUST stay with their child at all den meetings, pack meetings, campouts, and events. This is a BSA regulation, not a pack regulation, and there are no exceptions.
• Pack 61 follows the Cobb County Schools calendar. If there is no school, there is no scouts.

What do I need to purchase for my new Cub Scout?

• A uniform shirt for his rank (Class “A” Uniform)
• Insignia for his new shirt 
• Uniform cap for his rank 
• Official Cub Scout belt (important for displaying Belt Loops)
• Cub Scout Handbook for his rank

Pack Dues, Costs, Miscellaneous Information

• Awards and advancements are provided by the Pack.
• A one-time BSA registration fee (including Boy’s Life Magazine Subscription) of $20.00 is required, along with a completed Youth Application for each scout.
• Pack dues are $120 annually, and includes all advancements, derby kits, trophies, food / drinks provided at events, and a Pack T-Shirt (Class “B” uniform).
• Available discounts for pack dues include a timely payment discount (before 10/18/16) of $20 and a sibling discount of $10 per sibling.
• Pack 61 is a “waist-up” pack for uniform inspections – please see your adult leader with any questions.
• Additional fees may apply for camping, special events, etc.
• Completed Health Forms are required for all scouts, parents, and siblings attending campouts, etc.
• Additional pack T-shirts are available for $10 each.
• Pack 61 accepts all major credit cards (additional 2.75%Square fee applied), personal checks, and cash as payment forms.
• Fundraisers are held twice per year, and proceeds can be applied toward pack dues, fees, etc.

Cub Scouts depend on and need Adult Leaders to keep the program running. If you are interested in helping, either as a Leader or a volunteer parent, please let us know!

Our Pack Leader Committee meets monthly. Parents are welcome to attend!
