Smyrna's Jonquil City Jog Set For Saturday, In-Person Registration Deadline Is Friday

SMYRNA, GA — The 2022 Jonquil City Jog 5K, 1K and Tot Trot will be held on Saturday in Smyrna.

The 5K run/walk will begin at City Hall, 2800 King Street. Advance in-person registration is open until noon Friday at the Smyrna Community Center front desk, located at 200 Village Green Circle. The center is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Race Day Registration and Race Number Pick-up is at 6:45 a.m. at the Gazebo in front of City Hall. Participants who register by mail or online must pick up their numbers on race day, not at the Community Center. Register online here.

This year the race will not be on the same weekend as the Spring Jonquil Festival because of the construction in the vicinity of the community center and library buildings, the City said.

“The race will be the same great event we've had in the past. A flat and fast 5K run/walk from Smyrna City Hall - the route is out and back on Atlanta Road, on a USATF certified 5K route, so it's a great AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifying race; and Kenny's Key Lime Pies for the first place finishers in all 5K categories.”

Starting Times:
6:45am - Race Day Registration & Race Number Pick-up (adjacent to the Gazebo in front of Smyrna City Hall)
8:00am - 5K Run/Walk Start (in front of the War Memorial)
9:00am - 1K Fun Run Start - (1K will start directly in front of Smyrna City Hall as soon as the 5K is complete)

9:15am - Tot Trot Start - (Tot Trot will start directly in front of Smyrna City Hall as soon as the 1K is complete)

Only timed participants in the 5K are eligible for overall and age group awards. All 1st place finishers will receive a Kenny's key lime pie, in addition to their age group award. Awards will be presented to the top overall M/F finishers, top overall masters M/F finishers, and the top 3 M/F finishers in 15 age groups from 8 and under to 70 and over.
