Local art student earns place on Calendar
Whitefield art student Kaitlyn Stewart's work earns a place on calendar

Kaitlyn Stewart, a junior at Whitefield Academy has been selected as one of twelve winners in the 8th annual Southern Teachers Student Art Contest. This year, over 440 submissions were received and Kaitlyn's work, “Morris Hall” was one of twelve selected to grace a page on the 2017-18 calendar produced by the Southern Teachers Agency. Seventeen thousand copies of the student art calendar will be printed and shipped to more than 2,000 schools around the country. For her winning entry, Kaitlyn received $50 worth art supplies at Blick Art Materials. The Southern Teachers Agency believes that teaching fine arts is fundamentally important to the overall education of children.
