New Yogurt Shop Coming To Vinings
Cleaning up the notebook with some Vinings news you can use.
Just in time for warmer temperatures this spring and summer, another frozen yogurt business is on the way. A peek inside the business window front on Monday showed that construction work is being done for what will be Cowlicks Yogurt & Floats.
Set to open at 2460 Cumberland Parkway near Paces Ferry Road, It will occupy the same space that was formerly home to Planet Smoothie, a few doors down from .
At its twitter home page, Cowlicks states to be "a fun new neighborhood yogurt and floats cafe. With various yogurt, coke products, fresh fruit, and many other tasty toppings!"

Down the street behind the , the space at 2810 Paces Ferry Road remains empty after Uncle Wong’s cleared out not too long ago. But in the same building, the practice of yoga, pilates and kettle bells is alive and well at Oni Fitness Studio.
It opened last month as Oni, which in Hawaiian means “body movement,’’ and wants to help its clients “simplify the fitness experience and establish a baseline for long term wellness by utilizing proven training techniques to develop strength, flexibility and stability.’’

You might need some form of fitness exercise on Friday if you decide to attend the next specialty night at located at One Ivy Walk. Fresh from a pair of highly successful Louisiana crawfish boils, the popular restaurant invites patrons for its four-course menu showcasing distinct smoking flavors on Thursday night.
Think hickory-smoked Margret duck ham, fennel-smoked diver scallop and pecan wood-smoked Niman ranch lamb chomps. Cost is $65 per person and includes drinks, tax and gratuity. See here for more information.
On Saturday, the Board of Trustees of the Vinings Historic Preservation will celebrate the addition of The Pace House to the National Register of Historic Places and honor the leadership of Mary Ann (M. A.) Sikes in helping this honor come about.

And looking ahead a bit, Saturday, April 9 will bring a pair of events to the Vinings area. First up is the from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Come walk between five restaurants – , Noche, , and – that will pair discounted food items with delicious wines from around the world. Last year’s event had more than 500 attendees. Also on April 9, the at 2485 Cumberland Parkway will celebrate “The Adventures of Cinnamon & Spice,’’ a new multi-cultural character education children’s book series.
The restaurant will help bring character education to children between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. as 1,000 signed copies of “First Day Blues” – a 24-page picture book that gives kids the courage to experience their first day of school with excitement rather than fear - will be given away as gifts.
