No Cobb SPLOST vote today
Smyrna officials set to met with Hickory Lake apartment residents this afternoon

The Cobb Board of Commissioners is set to meet this morning, but there will be no vote onto whether to hold a public referendum to extend the current SPLOST.
There will be, though, on the Special Purpose Option Local Sales Tax, and following that a special meeting to examine every project on the SPLOST list. Smyrna mayor Max Bacon is expected to be in attendance.
Later Tuesday, Bacon and members of the Smyrna City Council are expected to be at Welcome Al Baptist Church to talk and listen to the concerns of Hickory Lake apartments residents. The city intends to close on the purchase of the property this month and is still working with residents concerning what will be the guidelines and timeline for their removal once the city gains control of the property.

"We want to do the right thing and we will do the right thing,'' Bacon said after last week's town hall meeting on the subject matter. "We're trying to finalize our plan with some incentives for people. We know it's a difficult time of year to move.
