No Need for Moodiness on a Busy Tuesday

Tuesday afternoon,
I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.

Well, unfortunately when the Moody Blues released that song (43 years ago, oy!), they didn’t have this particular Tuesday in mind. That’s because, as has been the case throughout this stormy month, rain is on the way. Still it’s no reason to be down and out because there’s plenty going on this Tuesday spring day.

Such as at the Overlook III building in Vinings, where is brewing and for business. Another new opening in Vinings is at 2460 Cumberland Parkway. The folks there are hosting a VIP party tonight where they will be giving away free frozen yogurt and floats from 6 to 8 p.m.

Speaking of VIP, is giving away a VIP three-course dinner for 10 at your favorite Grape Location, including the one in Vinings. Check out their new facebook page here to enter.  

And speaking of facebook, that’s where announced today that it was rolling out a new menu this Tuesday. Might have to check that out soon.  

Up the road, will have sports on the tube tonight, including Hawks-Magic Game 5 and Sabres-Flyers Game 7. On their facebook page they say, “Wear your gear and have one on us!!’’ Might be worth a try if you’re a fan on a budget.  

It’s Loyalty Night at St. Angelo’s Pizza, where all points are double. has trivia at 7:30 p.m., while at the Galleria has Texas Hold ‘em beginning at 7 p.m.  

Maybe you need a pick-me-up? “Coffee for a Cause’’ continues all week at locations were the proceeds from all coffee and select chocolates sold will go to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation.  

Or maybe you want to do something nice for dear mum with Mother’s Day approaching in less than two weeks. Think you mom deserves a Mother’s Day brunch at ? If it’s culture you’re looking for this Tuesday evening, Whitefield Academy is having its Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the LSSAC. The concert will feature the Middle School Choir, Orchestra 1 and 2, Band 1, Concert Band, and Jazz Band.  

And at the , the Shuler Hensley Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m. It’s a part of Artsbridge, Cobb Energy’s educational program, and is intended to focus attention on the importance of keeping theater opportunities in high schools. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or www.shulerawards.org.

And finally, how about 30 or so teenagers and men competing in a match of strength? The Campbell High Football Booster Club is hosting its CHS Weight Lifting Challenge fundraiser at Wills gym from 7 to 8:30 pm. Watch 15 faculty, coaches and parents battle it out against 15 Spartan football players to determine who is the strongest. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and free for kids 10 and under.
