One GA Toys R Us Store Not Closing After All
The toy giant announced Friday that 18 of its stores nationwide, which were set to close, will stay in business.

Toys R Us on Friday released a list of stores it is not closing, rolling back on the closure of 18 Toys R Us, Babies R Us and co-branded stores. The late January announcement by Toys R Us said they intended to close 182 stores nationwide, a number which now stands at 164.
One Georgia store is not closing, according to Toys R Us. The Babies R Us and Toys R Us co-branded store in Smyrna, at 2955 Cobb Pkwy.
The moves come four months after Toys R Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection amid declining sales and climbing debt.

In California alone, 27 stores are planned to be shuttered. Florida has 11 locations due for closure, New Jersey has 12 and New York has 15.

David Brandon, chairman and CEO of the toy retailer, said the brand is reinventing itself, and that requires some "tough decisions about our priorities and focus.
"The reinvention of our brands requires that we make tough decisions about our priorities and focus," Brandon said in a letter posted on the company's website.
