Pitching By Michael Braswell Shuts Out Hiram, Campbell Spartans

Campbell Spartan Baseball defeats Hiram High School 4-0.

Michael Braswell didn't allow a single run against Hiram, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Campbell Spartans Varsity to a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. Campbell Spartans Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning. Campbell Spartans Varsity scored one run when Jordan Newell singled. One bright spot for Hiram was a single by Trenton Parker in the third inning. Braswell led the Campbell Spartans Varsity to victory on the pitcher's mound. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Dakota Daniell took the loss for Hiram. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero. Campbell Spartans Varsity racked up eight hits. Newell, Dominic Rutigliano, and Braswell all managed multiple hits for Campbell Spartans Varsity. Braswell, Rutigliano, and Newell each collected two hits to lead Campbell Spartans Varsity. “ I am very proud of our performance today, across the lineup,” said Head Coach Jeff Searcy. “We had a tough week last week. But we it put it behInd us as the guys stepped up today. You have to have a short memory in baseball. Mike pitched great. And, we played solid defense and implemented an effective plan at the plate.” The Spartans are at North Cobb on Thursday and at home against Hiram again on Friday. Both games are businessman specials and start at 2:00pm.
