Questions About FY13 Budget Caused Wilkinson to Vote No
The councilwoman said that she was unsure why some items had come in over budget and chose to vote against the budget amendment.

Two Smyrna City Council members voted against a budget amendment that adjusted the fiscal year 2013 budget to reflect the actual amount of money received and spent by the city.
Councilman Wade Lnenicka and Councilwoman Susan Wilkinson cast nay votes during the Smyrna City Council's meeting on Monday, Oct. 7.
Wilkinson told Patch that she voted against the budget amendment because there were several items on it that were unclear to her.
She cited the example of the "Lawn Care Services" budget item, and was not sure why the services came in higher than they were budgeted for.
The councilwoman said that she would be reaching out to Finance Director Toni Jo Howard to get a clear explanation of the budget items that seemed problematic.
"They may be justifiable but I'm just not clear on it," Wilkinson told Patch.
