Rev Coffee Brewing in Vinings

The good news keeps pouring in at .

Fresh from last weekend’s highly successful Spring Fest 2011 that featured more than 800 attendees, the hip Smyrna coffeehouse brewed up more fresh news this week with the announcement of its foray into Vinings.

Rev owner Nick Bimmerle told Patch this week that Rev Express will be serving beverages in the lobby of the Overlook III building, possibly as early as Thursday.

“Rev Express, that’s kind of a working title, but we’re really, really excited about this,’’ said Bimmerle. “It’s not going to be a storefront, but rather a kiosk with a movable bar. We’ll have probably have about 1,000 square feet, maybe a little less.’’

The 21-floor commercial high-rise Overlook III features a two-story lobby with a glass wall displaying a skyline view of downtown Atlanta. Some of the companies involved in the building are Cousins Properties Inc., Waste Management, Inc., and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. There have been discussions of signs signaling 10-minute parking being placed outside the building so other tenants in the 80-acre Overlook Complex can pop in for a cup of java.

“We’re planning on being open Monday the 18^th, but we might have a soft opening before to test the equipment,’’ Bimmerle said. “We were over there last week giving out coffee and meeting people. They seem to be looking forward to it.’’

The building already features a café, so Rev will not be selling food. But there will be plenty of beverages to be had and the current plan is for the new kiosk to be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.

“We’ll serve our own roasted coffee over there, we’re just going to have to roast a whole lot more of it,’’ he said. “We’ll have a full service espresso bar with lattes and cappuccinos. We’re even going to have smoothies for the summer. Teas, coffees, apple cider, you name it, we’re going to have it.’’
