Smyrna Firefighter Retires After Decades of Service

Engineer Robert “Bob” Morse officially retired on Monday after 31 years with the department, according to the department’s Facebook page. At 7 a.m., a citywide broadcast was released announcing Morse’s final day, and a fleet of fire trucks traveled up South Cobb Drive and Concord Road to deliver Morse back to his home.
On Thursday, department personnel held a farewell party for Morse, who was joined by family, friends, and fellow retirees celebrating the engineer’s final days of service. According to the department, Morse sent an e-mail over the weekend thanking everyone for the memories and entreating everyone to treat each other with respect.
