Smyrna Firefighter Retires After Decades of Service
Engineer Robert Morse has taken his gear off Truck 4 for the final time after 31 years with the department.

Engineer Robert βBobβ Morse officially retired on Monday after 31 years with the department, according to the departmentβs Facebook page. At 7 a.m., a citywide broadcast was released announcing Morseβs final day, and a fleet of fire trucks traveled up South Cobb Drive and Concord Road to deliver Morse back to his home.
On Thursday, department personnel held a farewell party for Morse, who was joined by family, friends, and fellow retirees celebrating the engineerβs final days of service. According to the department, Morse sent an e-mail over the weekend thanking everyone for the memories and entreating everyone to treat each other with respect.
