Smyrna Hosts All Star Baseball Tournament

As the great baseball hall of famer Ernie Banks once said, “It’s a great day for a ball game, let’s play two!’’

Well, the oppressive heat might not make it such a great day, but there’s definitely going to be more than two games played today as the Smyrna Little League plays host to the Little League of Georgia District II 7 & 8 All Star Tournament.

The eight-team tournament runs through Thursday and a complete schedule can be found here. But even if you can’t make it out to the ball field, select games will be webcasted at sportsjuice.com with David Albert, the voice of Kennesaw State University athletics, providing the play-by-play.

The Smyrna Red All Star team will be taking on the East Marietta Red All Stars at 1 p.m. Smyrna Red All Stars include Aidan Williams, Drew Robinson, Francisco Armstrong, Jackson James, Cole Peterson, Joshua Katz, Tucker Webb, Tristan Jensen, Davis McCravy, Bryce Archie, Gabriel Servi and Michael Fletcher.

The Smyrna Blue All Stars will face Murphy Candler Gold at 3 p.m. Smyrna Blue All Stars include Bryce Becker, Colin Stewart, Dominic Rutigliano, Drewbie Pinkston, Ethan Mack, Ethan Tai, Gavin Forman, Jake Peterson, Jason Warner, Sincere Hogan, Nick Addison and Logan Harris.
