Smyrna Man Found Shot To Death On Resident's Front Door
Cobb County police are investigating the discovery made early Wednesday morning in Austell.

AUSTELL, GA -- A Smyrna man was found shot to death early Wednesday morning on the doorstep of a resident in south Cobb County. Officers with the Cobb police department were dispatched around 7:42 a.m. Oct. 25 to a home on Golden Pine Road in Austell.
Cobb police say emergency dispatchers were called by a resident who said he found a man slumped against the front door of his home, the agency said in a press release. Officers arrived on the scene and found the male to be deceased from a gunshot wound.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Anton Balentay Watson of Smyrna, and investigators believed he is also "connected" with an abandoned car at the intersection of Golden Pine Road and Cityview Drive, Cobb police added.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of Watson's death. The case remains active, and investigators continue to ask anyone with information to contact Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
