Soho Showcases the Wines of Australia and New Zealand

Flight Night offers restaurant guests new sips and flavors each week.

Throughout November, SOHO Atlanta restaurant has spotlighted the wines and flavors of Australia and New Zealand. The wines and tapas introduced on flight night, Wednesday, November 19, will be available to guests through Tuesday, December 2.

First, SOHO is pouring a 2011 Neudorf Chardonnay from New Zealand. The winemaker describes the Chardonnay, “White gold in color, with hints of peach skin and nectarine and citrus notes followed by a complex and nutty palate. The use of oak is restrained and supportive without being overbearing.”

Next, SOHO is pouring a 2012 Yangarra Estate Old Vine Grenache from McLaren Vale, Australia. The winemaker says of the wine, “A highly complex, intense beauty, with cherry and plums giving way to hints of licorice, dried spring flowers, cocoa and cinnamon spice. The palate is driven and concentrated, with fine sandy mineral tannins.”

Of the Shiraz, the winemaker says, “The 2012 Entity Shiraz displays deep ruby purple color with attractive blackberry and blueberry aromatics, intermingled with hints of savory spice. A full bodied and generous palate, with layers of dark berry fruit and youthful balanced tannins. Very pure and mouth filling, with ample structure.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Scott Warren, has created three tapas plates to be paired with the wine.
