Spartans seek to start new streak
Campbell entertains Harrison Friday night, while The Lovett School honors one of its all-time coaching greats prior to the Lions' region showdown against visiting Blessed Trinity.

Off their largest margin of victory win in five seasons, the Campbell Spartans will look to keep it rolling tonight as the Harrison Hoyas visit Smyrna for a clash of one-win teams.
Last week is was a battle of winless clubs as Campbell traveled to Kennesaw, and after spotting its opponent an early 7-0 advantage, the Spartans roared back to score a 33-7 win over Kennesaw Mountain.
That snapped a 13-game losing streak and marked the first win for coach Harris Rainbow in his initial season at CHS. Kickoff tonight between the Spartans, 1-5 overall and 1-2 in Region 4-AAAAAA play, and Harrison, 1-5 and 0-3, is set for 7:30 p.m.

Campbell will look to snap a seven-game home losing streak tonight. The Spartans final home game of the year is set for next Friday against South Cobb (4-2), before concluding the regular season with road games at Pebblebrook (3-3) and Hillgrove (6-0).

Across the Chattahoochee River, Lovett plays its second of a three-game home stretch as the Lions entertain region foe Blessed Trinity. Both teams enter the game with 2-0 records in the B Division of Region 6-AA.
Lovett is 5-1 overall with its only loss coming at top-ranked Buford. The Titans have also lost to the powerful Wolves and enter tonight 3-3 overall.
Lovett has won the last two years on the Titans’ home field in Roswell, but Blessed Trinity did score the victory in its most recent visit to Martin E.Kilpatrick Stadium back in 2008.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Prior to the game their will be a ceremony at the school honoring retired wrestling coach, Jim Glasser. The Jim Glasser Wrestling Support Endowment Fund and Jim Glasser Wrestling Room will be announced along with presentations in the Wallace Gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m.
After 36 years, Glasser retired as wrestling coach following last season. His record of 751-48-2 and .940 winning percentage is a full percentage point ahead of the current national record holder. He is the fourth winningest coach in high school wrestling history.
His teams won 13 state titles at the State Traditional or State Dual levels, while 26 other teams finished second or third at the State meets. Glasser also coached five state-winning tennis teams and a girls state championship track squad, too.
