Taste of Smyrna, Document Shredding Event This Saturday

Do a little fall cleaning before or after you stop by the Smyrna Village Green to sample some of the area's best food.

Smyrna will be bustling with activity on Saturday with two popular but entirely different events taking place on Smyrna Village Green and the Wolfe Recreation Center.

For the gourmand, the Taste of Smyrna will be held between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the village green. The city’s website reports that 30 Smyrna area restaurants will be on the green selling samples of their finest cooking for $1 to $4. There will also be live music and a kids zone featuring a 33-foot long shark slide. There is no admission fee to the event.

Smyrna residents with unnecessary paperwork they want to get rid of can stop by the Wolfe Recreation Center between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday to participate in the Keep Smyrna Beautiful document shredding event. Keep Smyrna Beautiful will only accept up paper items, and only 4 file boxes or 110 lbs. of documents per vehicle. The organization is also asking for participants to donate gently used shoes for needy people in the area.
