π± Tyler Perry Hosts Luncheon For Atlanta Police + Shots Fired In Ulta
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Smyrna-Vinings.
Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Smyrna-Vinings Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in town these days. Without further ado...
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and hot. High: 94 Low: 69.
Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:
- About 15 miles away from Smyrna-Vinings, Tyler Perry Studios hosted an appreciation luncheon for the City of Atlanta police department in an effort to help retain law enforcement officers across Georgia. The mayor, interim police chief, and Tyler Perry discussed how this is just one way they are working to boost morale. Tyler Perry told the police in attendance, "We need you, the city needs you." (WSB Atlanta)
- A man fired a round of bullets into the ceiling of the nearby Buckhead Loop Ulta. At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, the suspect entered the store and demanded cash, according to Atlanta police. The robber then fled the store with an unspecified amount of money. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- According to AAA - The Auto Club Group, Georgia drivers are paying an average of $4.47 per gallon for regular gas. The price of gas in Cobb County is $4.52, about five cents more than the rest of the state. "Unfortunately, we can't predict if gas prices will decline this week, but should be prepared to deal with price fluctuations at the pump for the rest of the summer," said Montrae Waiter, the spokeswoman for AAA.
