Update In Death Of Woman Dismembered In Smyrna Released

SMYRNA, GA — A new autopsy result showed a woman who was dismembered in a Smyrna apartment complex had a gunshot wound to the head, police said Tuesday.

Smyrna Police did not release any further new details regarding the death of 26-year-old Shanteria Mosley. She died between 10 a.m. and noon, Sept. 23, at an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Valley Parkway.

An official cause of death has not been released. However, murder warrants "suggests a possible stabbing (was) involved in Mosley's death," WXIA-TV reported late Monday afternoon.

Kingston Bradley, 18, faces charges of malice murder, battery - family violence and concealing the death of another, according to updated Cobb County Jail records.

Warrants state Mosley's torso "had 'various lacerations and stab wounds' and that there was "copious amounts of blood consistent with murdering Shanteria Mosley and dismembering Shanteria Mosley's body" in Bradley's apartment, WXIA-TV reported.

Body parts were found in a garbage bag lodged in the trunk of a vehicle, police said. Investigators believed the victim to be Mosley, police said.

Last week, authorities found "several areas of blood staining and a large bloody saw," as well as a "mop bucket with water and mop in addition to a carpet cleaner," inside Bradley's apartment, WXIA-TV previously reported. An odor of bleach was reportedly detected.

It is unknown why Mosley was in the apartment complex and if she has a connection to Bradley.

His father, Kenneth Bradley, released a statement, WAGA-TV reported. It read, in part:

"... First and foremost, I’m sending my deepest condolences to the family of the young lady and her family. Kingston has been dealing with mental illness for the past 6 years. .... Like you, I have many questions as to the specifics of what happened, when and where. What I can say for certain is that I had no involvement with this incident nor had any knowledge of the incident. I did not know the victim or her family and do not know how or if my son knew her prior to the incident. I’m not on the run. I told the detectives everything I knew about my son. My family and I did not have anything to do with Kingston’s actions. I’m getting inbox messages and screenshots that are full of lies. ... I can’t imagine how painful this is for the victim family. ... I am fully cooperating with law enforcement. They know of my whereabouts."
