Vinings Business Association Donates to Thanks for Giving

The Vinings Business Association (VBA) is donating $500 to the annual Thanks for Giving food drive administered by the Center for Family Resources (CFR) in Marietta, in recognition and support of their community event of collecting and distributing boxes of food to Cobb families during the Thanksgiving season.

According to volunteer coordinator Alicia Ferguson at the CFR, “We believe in collecting and providing all the ingredients necessary for a family to make their own Thanksgiving meal at home, in a way that supports and honors their own family traditions. Thanks for Giving does so much more than provide a meal. It provides a continuation of a family's holiday expectations and way of life.”

Charles Rea, 2016 president of the VBA said, “We realize that Thanksgiving week can be even more financially stressful when students are home from school for more than just the holiday meal. Through participation in the annual Thanks for Giving food drive, our generous community captures the true spirit of Thanksgiving.”

In 2015, Thanks for Giving provided boxes of Thanksgiving staples to over 1200 Cobb families.
