Warner, Bates, McGough, McGinnis & Portnoy Reception Raises $17,300 For Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation
Donations to Guardian ad Litem Program Approach $70,000 To Date
Warner, Bates, McGough, McGinnis & Portnoy (www.wbmfamilylaw.com) is proud to announce that its August 20 reception raised $17,300 for the Guardian ad Litem Program of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
The event has raised close to $70,000 for the Guardian ad Litem program. Just four years ago, the program faced the prospect of discontinuing its services after losing a grant from Fulton County.
“It is an honor to host an event that has brought together so many valued members of the Atlanta legal community together to support a cause as worthy as the Guardian ad Litem program,” said Jim McGinnis, a partner at Warner Bates and Treasurer of the AVLF Board of Directors. “We will continue to show our support for a program that gives a voice to young people who might not otherwise be heard.”

AVLF has operated the Guardian ad Litem program in the Fulton County Family Division since 1990. The program provides training for private attorney volunteers to represent Fulton County children from low-income households who are the subject of contested custody actions.
