The Weather Channel is On its Own
IBM is buying the company's product and tech, but not the TV station itself.

The Weather Channel is on its own.
This past Friday, IBM completed its purchase of the company’s product and technology businesses, according to Adweek. But that sale doesn’t include the actual Smyrna-based station itself, meaning The Weather Channel is now an independent network.
The station also launched 34 years ago as an independent.
