Rangers found Kornmeier's empty boat adrift in open water just outside the cove, but no sign of him. A preliminary search of the cove and surrounding areas Saturday, and further searching on Sunday, yielded no results.

Kornmeier's disappearance is the second time in the past week that a man has gone missing in the Cocktail Cove area. Authorities confirmed a body found Thursday in Lake Lanier was a missing Buford man.
