New Verizon Celebrates Grand Opening

The new Verizon Wireless at 1937 Scenic Highway will celebrate with grand opening events this weekend.

The new Verizon Wireless along Scenic Highway will begin celebrating its official grand opening on Thursday, June 28, according to a press release from the company.

There will first be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on June 28, when the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce will be present. In honor of the grand opening, Verizon will present a $1,000 check to Georgia's Partnership Against Domestic Violence as part of its HopeLine project.

Additional grand opening events for the weekend of June 28 – July 1, include live radio remotes with Star 94 and V-103, giveaways and special offers on select accessories. During the two radio remotes, the new Snellville store will be offering $50 off 4G smartphones.

The 4,000-square-foot store, located at 1937 Scenic Highway, . It showcases a interactive retail concepts and has a new open floor plan designed to improve the sales process and customer experience, Verizon officials said in a press release.

" in Snellville is double the size of the previous location, offering a greatly expanded space for both shopping and customer service," said Jonathan LeCompte, president of Verizon Wireless Georgia/Alabama Region, in a press release.

"Through our continued expansion of retail stores such as this one," LeCompte added, "Verizon Wireless exemplifies its commitment to providing our customers throughout Georgia with a unique and engaging shopping experience as well as easy access to customer service and technical support all in one place."

New store features also include:

  • A demo area where customer interaction is guided by sales staff
  • Oversized high-definition televisions showcasing the latest wireless multimedia applications
  • More than 65 smartphones, tablets, netbooks and other devices for customers to handle and test
  • Tablet check-in that enables customers to electronically keep their place in line while browsing the store
  • Bill payment kiosks
  • Consultations tables for one-on-one training and advice
