"I want Game On with Katie B. Davis to be the kind of show that people need to listen to day in and day out to get their end-of-the-day wrap up of what's going on in our local sports scene. I want AM550 and FM102.9 to be a destination between 7 and 8 every night, and we're going to make sure that the guests we have on and the things we talk about ensure that,” said Davis. "More than talking at an audience about big national sports headlines, we want to engage even the casual fan and start a conversation. A true conversation about what's right and wrong in our region of the sports world."
The list of sports stars she has interviewed during her tenure as a sports writer and on-air host for Jacobs Media includes former Atlanta Hawks great Dominique Wilkins, current Falcons players Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez and Brent Grimes, former Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking, former Tennessee coach Pat Summitt, former Tennessee player and current WNBA superstar Candace Parker, Georgia women's basketball coach Andy Landers, baseball great Phil Niekro, current college stars Blake Sims, Connor Shaw, AJ Johnson, TJ Jones, Andraya Carter, Blanche Alverson, and Erica Rucker, ESPN NASCAR analyst and expert Marty Smith, Bill Elliott, former college coaching great Howard Schnellenburger, Falcons coach Mike Smith, former New England Patriot Jarvis Green, and former University of Georgia All-American and Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Hines Ward.
“I am passionate about sports at all levels and am looking forward to sharing that passion,” Davis said. “We want Game On with Katie B. Davis to inform, but even more than that, entertain. We're going to give our audience insight into schematics, rosters, wins and losses, sure, but we're also going to discuss what makes athletes and coaches tick."
