Collins Hill Suffers First Loss

Eagles no match for Gwinnett rival Brookwood.

The Collins Hill Eagles' offense, which was so productive in the second half vs. Roswell a week ago, could get nothing going Friday against Brookwood in Snellville.

Brookwood jumped to a 21-0 first half lead en route to a 24-7 victory, according to news reports.

Eagles RB Jordan Parker, who had over 200 yards vs. Roswell, gained just 40 yards on 15 carries Friday.

Collins Hill (1-1) gained just 47 yards on its 18 offensive plays in the first half.

"In the second half, the score was 7-3," Eagles Coach Kevin Reach told the Gwinnett Daily Post. "I know (Brookwood) changed some at halftime when they were up 21-0, but our defense played well. I'm proud of our kids. In the second half, we played a lot harder."
