UPDATE: Gwinnett Pitcher Heads for Atlanta

Teheran is the losing pitcher Saturday. Father's Day game set for Sunday.

The Gwinnett Braves announced Sunday that pitcher Todd Redmond's contract has been purchased by the Atlanta Braves, and that he will join the major league roster.

Redmond, 27, has gone 6-4 with a 3.20 ERA for Gwinnett this season. The 2012 season was Redmond’s fourth-straight as a member of the G-Braves, according to a Gwinnett Braves news release.

The Gwinnett Braves will have a Father's Day game against Columbus at Coolray Field on Sunday afternoon, and they'll hope for better results than they had Saturday.

Columbus DH Russ Canzier went 2-for-4 with a home run Saturday to lead his team to a 6-1 victory over the G-Braves. Gwinnett's Jose Constanza went 2-for-4 with a home run.

Gwinnett's Julio Teheran was the losing pitcher. Teheran (5-3) allowed two earned runs on six hits over 4.0 innings.

Sunday's game starts at 2:05 p.m. As usual, there will be pregame catch on the field, and post-game base run for kids 12-under.
