Fun Times at Frontera
Frontera Mex Mex Grill on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road offers Mexican dishes at a reasonable price.
Frontera Mex Mex Grill on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road is located in the Kroger shopping center at the corner of Taylor Road. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it is a great place to be whether the weather is cool or hot.
Many Mexican restaurants market themselves as Tex Mex grills, serving Mexican food with a little Texan twist. At it is all Mexican. Edwin Delrosario, a waiter at Frontera, is a native Spanish speaker who enjoys working at the restaurant.
The start of every meal is a basket of thin, crunchy tortilla chips and two types of salsa. One salsa is a tomato based, the other has a little more heat, or spice to it. These baskets are never ending, so be careful or you may get too full before the food comes out.

For those that are budget-minded, there are meals for two for $20. Many of the meals come with refried beans and Spanish rice. Many of the meals also come with salsa-type dips. Use caution, the salsa del diablo is hot, as in two cups of water, food and more chips could not even touch it. Delrosario was quick to make sure that cups of water were delivered to the table to curb what he called "the sauce that could kill you, literally, salsa del diablo is translated the devil's sauce."
On weekends, Frontera features a live mariachi band that travels around the restaurant serenading diners. They can honor many requests, even those for contemporary songs. Balloons are always available for the little ones that may accompany you to dinner. Kids menus feature Mexican food, but for those picky eaters, traditional kids fare like chicken fingers is an option as well.
