G-Braves Shut Out Syracuse

Third game in series goes to Gwinnett.

J.J. Hoover led the visiting Gwinnett Braves to a 1-0 shutout of the Syracuse Chiefs on Thursday night. It was Hoover's first Triple-A win.

Starting pitcher, Todd Redmond pitched scoreless innings and was relieved in the seventh by Hoover, who struck out five of six batters.

Stefan Gartrell scored in the eighth inning off a single to right field by Wilkin Castillo.

The Braves (69-57) are still four games behind Durham in the IL South and 2.5 games behind Lehigh Valley (72-55) in the Wild Card standings.
