GCPS Schedules 2012 Area Board Meetings
Board members and the superintendent will meet with the public at various schools throughout Gwinnett.
The Gwinnett school board has scheduled its area board meetings for 2012, and they take on added importance this year with the recently realigned board districts.
Several Suwanee schools are in the revamped District 3, represented by Dr. Mary Kay Murphy. That meeting will be held April 17 at Duluth High.
remains in District 2 and that meeting will be held April 10 at Collins Hill. Daniel Seckinger represents District 2.

The meetings are a time for the board to share information with the public and for citizens to discuss education topics with their elected officials, according to a GCPS news release. They also are an opportunity to hear CEO/Superintendent Alvin Wilbanks' annual address on the state of the school district, focusing on the district's strategic direction, recent successes and new initiatives, and current budget challenges.
The change in board district lines does not affect attendance zones for schools or boundaries for clusters.
