Generate More Leads During the Slow Summer Months
Most companies tend to see a lull during the summer, but it's possible to maintain a steady stream of leads if you consider these tips.

When it comes to lead generation, it’s no surprise that the seasons play a role in the number of new clients or customers that most companies are able to accrue. Sadly, aside from those industries that thrive during the warmth of summer, July tends to be one of the slowest months for most businesses due to the pull of fireworks and vacation.
With that being said, the holidays—all holidays—are a great time for most companies to exercise a bit of gratitude marketing in an effort to retain old clients and hopefully establish new ones through referrals. Sure, it seems only natural to extend a bit of appreciation during December when glad tidings virtually radiate from every direction; however, a successful lead generation strategy should be used throughout the year.
Therefore, if your company works within an industry that is notoriously slow during the summer months, instead of reaching for leads that simply aren’t there, make a point to show some appreciation for your existing customers. While this may seem counterproductive, try to remember that people love referrals.

For example, if I’m going to hire someone to re-do my kitchen, one of the first things I’m going to do is reach out to my friends and family to see whether they can recommend someone. From there, it’s important to remember that human beings are relational creatures. We enjoy forming relationships with people and more often than not, genuine expressions of appreciation will create higher levels of endearment. With that being said, people are more likely to recommend businesses they feel close to. If the ultimate goal is to increase your profits during slower periods, then making a point to truly strengthen your customer relationships will make a difference in regards to the number of referrals they provide.
With that being said, I will reiterate the fact that the holidays are a great time to work on lead generation, especially lesser-acknowledged holidays such the Fourth of July. Taking the time to send a note of thanks or a small gift can make a huge difference, particularly when that gift isn’t being lost in a slew of other holiday goodies.
