Drew Sutton had a two-run double in the eighth inning Friday night to break up a scoreless game and send the Gwinnett Braves to a 3-0 victory over host Charlotte. The G-Braves have won 12 of 16 games this season.
G-Braves pitcher Johan Flande continued his excellent season, retiring the first 13 batters he faced Friday. He has not allowed a run in 15.2 innings this season.
Gwinnett and Charlotte play again Saturday night in Fort Mill, S.C.
