
The Gwinnett Braves got a bases-loaded single from Diory Hernandez in the 11th inning Friday night to earn a 4-3 victory over Norfolk. The win at Coolray Field gives the G-Braves a 1 1/2 game lead over Durham in the International League South.
For Gwinnett, DH Chris Carter was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI, giving him a league-leading 63. Reliever Yohan Flande was the winning pitcher.
The teams play again Saturday (7:05 p.m.) at Coolray Field. Mike Minor will be the starting pitcher for the G-Braves.
