Gwinnett Braves Lose 2012 Opener

Durham wins in 12 innings.

The Gwinnett Braves played 12 innings Thursday, but came away losers, 4-3, in their 2012 season opener in Durham, N.C.

The Durham Bulls scored two runs in the 12th to come away with the victory. G-Braves shortstop Greg Paimi's fielding error allowed the winning run to score.

Earlier, a run-scoring single by Ernesto Mejia and an RBI double by Stefan Gartrell helped the G-Braves tie the game. A home run by J.C. Boscan in the 12th gave Gwinnett a brief lead that it could not hold.
