Gwinnett Braves Lose Finale vs. Syracuse

Team is now five games behind the division leaders.

The Gwinnett Braves' bats kept struggling Friday as they fell 5-2 to the Chiefs in Syracuse, N.Y. The loss dropped the G-Braves to five games behind division-leading Durham in the International League South, and 2 1/2 games off wild-card leaders Lehigh Valley.

Gwinnett scored just 10 runs in the four-game series vs. Syracuse. Friday, Brandon Hicks and Wilkin Ramirez had two hits each for Gwinnett, which fell behind 3-1 in the second inning.

G-Braves pitcher Yohan Flande allowed four runs and 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Gwinnett now moves on to Charlotte for the opener of a four-game, home and home series vs. the Knights. The G-Braves will return to Coolray Field on Monday.
