Gwinnett Braves Win Opener of Road Trip

G-Braves take series opener in Toledo 4-1.

Outfielder Jose Costanza went 4-for-5 with a home run as the Gwinnett Braves opened a series in Toledo with a 4-1 victory Tuesday. His leadoff home run gave Gwinnett (30-28) a lead it held the entire game.

Erik Cordier (1-1) allowed no runs and three hits in seven innings for the victory.

The teams meet again tonight in Toledo at 7:05 p.m. Todd Redmond (3-6, 2.93 ERA) is scheduled to start for Gwinnett.
