Gwinnett Braves Win Third Straight

Team has its home opener Thursday.

The Gwinnett Braves have a three-game winning streak as they come home to Coolray Field for Thursday's home opener.

The G-Braves took a wild 14-12 victory Wednesday in Norfolk in 11 innings, despite trailing 12-5 in the ninth.

But Gwinnett tied the game, thanks somewhat to five walks by Norfolk pitchers in the ninth inning. Outfielder Jose Constanza had a two-run single to tie the game in the ninth. Then in the 11th, Constanza had a two-run triple to score the winning runs.

At one point, Norfolk had to use an infielder to pitch because the team had gone through its entire pitching staff in an attempt to halt the Gwinnett comeback.

Constanza and Stefan Gartrell each had four RBI for Gwinnett.
