Gwinnett Man Killed While Walking On I-575 in Woodstock

A 26-year-old man was killed when he was hit by two vehicles around 1 a.m. on Interstate 575 in Woodstock.

Rommel Beckles of Snellville was walking in the middle lane on I-575 at the Ridgewalk Parkway interchange around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday when a passenger vehicle traveling in the same direction hit him, said Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson.

Watson said Beckles, who was wearing dark-colored clothing, “came to rest in the southbound left lane and a second passenger vehicle struck his body again.”

Beckles died at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the state agency.
