Gwinnett Teacher of Year Announcement Is Near

Teachers from two Suwanee schools will know Thursday whether they are Gwinnett County schools' Teacher Of The Year.

Lindsey Cafarella of  High and 
Sarah Black of North Gwinnett Middle are among a group of six that includes teachers from all school levels in the county, according to the GCPS.

Cafarella is a world history instructor, Black an orchestra teacher.

Other finalists for the 2012 honor are Brittany Palazzo of Mulberry Elementary,  Jennifer Dunn of Pharr Elementary, Keri Beth Tidmore Jones of Dacula Middle, and Aundrea Muth of Mill Creek High.

A GCPS committee narrowed the field from 25 semifinalists, who had been selected from 129 local school TOTYs.

The annual announcement of the winner will be Thursday at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth.
