
Jason Heyward doubled and scored in the first inning Monday as the Gwinnett Braves defeated Indianapolis, 2-0, on the road.
Heyward, who has hit just .214 with the Atlanta Braves this season after an outstanding rookie year in 2010, began his injury rehab assigment by going 1-for-3. He was assigned to Gwinnett earlier Monday.
Todd Redmond (5-6) pitched six shutout innings for Gwinnett.
